Product Introduction

Round-head Phillips self-tapping screws are convenient and practical fasteners, widely used in everyday assembly and light industrial applications. Their semi-circular head design and rounded appearance protect against scratches from sharp edges and reduce wear on the assembly surface. They also maintain aesthetic appeal when used exposed, making them suitable for applications such as furniture and appliances where aesthetic considerations are crucial.

1

The cross groove design in the center of the head allows the screwdriver (including manual and power tools) to engage accurately and is not easy to slip when transmitting torque. It reduces the difficulty of operation and reduces damage to the head slot, greatly improving installation efficiency.

In terms of materials, high-quality carbon steel and stainless steel are commonly used. Carbon steel is cost-effective, and surface treatments such as galvanizing and phosphating enhance its rust resistance, making it suitable for dry indoor environments. Stainless steel, on the other hand, offers excellent corrosion resistance and is suitable for humid and mild outdoor environments, such as bathroom fixtures and outdoor furniture.

Usage Instructions

1

Confirm Specification Compatibility

Select self-tapping screws appropriate for material thickness. Excessively large diameters may split materials, while undersized screws provide insufficient holding strength.

Screw length must penetrate the joined material and embed into the base material. For example, when connecting metal plates to brackets: Screw length = Metal plate thickness + Embedment depth into bracket + 2-3mm.

Use conical tips for metal, rounded tips for plastic, and long tips for wood.

2

Pre-Treatment

For standard self-tapping screws, pre-drill holes in the material. This step aids screw positioning and reduces cracking risk. Self-drilling screws can skip this step; align directly at the connection point.

3

Installation and Tightening

Align the drive slot with the matching tool, keeping the screw perpendicular to the material surface to avoid tilting.

Rotate the tool at a steady speed, allowing the screw tip to naturally cut into the material.

Tighten until the head flushes with the material surface. Avoid excessive force, as over-tightening may cause thread failure.

4

Verify Connection Integrity

Gently shake the assembled components to confirm no loosening. Inspect for material cracking or deformation. If cracking occurs, replace with a smaller diameter screw or increase the pilot hole diameter.
