Product Process
We'd like to introduce our hot-dip galvanized steel wire ropes and the advanced process behind them. Unlike cold-galvanized or electroplated ropes, our hot-dip galvanized steel wire ropes are treated at high temperatures, where the ropes are immersed in molten zinc to form a thick, protective coating. With a typical zinc coating of up to 1200 g/m²-or even higher-our ropes offer outstanding corrosion resistance, significantly extending their service life.
The zinc coating is formed mainly through physical and thermal diffusion. First, an iron-zinc intermetallic layer develops, followed by a layer of pure zinc gradually covering the surface. While there is a practical limit to the zinc coating (usually no more than 593 g/m²), we carefully control the galvanizing process to balance both strength and corrosion resistance, especially during the twisting of the ropes. By performing the process in molten zinc at 450–480 °C, we ensure a uniform, high-quality coating on every rope.
The key advantage of our hot-dip galvanized steel wire ropes is their superior corrosion resistance. The zinc layer reacts with the steel to form a zinc-iron alloy, enhancing protection and giving the surface a slightly matte finish. Cold-galvanized ropes retain the natural bright color of zinc but offer slightly less corrosion protection, while electroplated ropes have thinner coatings and lower durability.
