Receiving a shipment of several tons of steel wire rope can be overwhelming. How do you know that the reel in front of you is actually the 1960MPa high-tensile grade you paid for? The answer lies in the "Birth Certificate"-the physical Identity Tag (ID Tag) attached to every reel.

The Anatomy of a Trustworthy Tag:

A professional ID tag is more than just a piece of plastic. It should clearly state:

- Nominal Diameter: Must match your order (e.g., 22mm).

- Construction: The strand/wire count (e.g., 35Wx7).

- Tensile Grade: The MPa rating.

- Reel Number: A unique ID that must match your Material Test Certificate (MTC).

Why the Paperwork Trap is Dangerous:

Many buyers only look at the PDF certificate sent by email. However, if the reel on your floor doesn't have a physical tag that links back to that PDF via a unique Heat Number, you have no way to prove the material's safety in the event of an audit or an accident. This "Traceability Gap" is a major risk for global projects.
