Ordinary carbon steel fasteners offer low cost and moderate strength, making them widely used in general industrial applications. Stainless steel fasteners offer excellent corrosion resistance and are suitable for use in humid or chemically corrosive environments. Alloy steel or titanium alloy fasteners are used in high-strength, high-temperature environments or in demanding applications such as aerospace. Surface treatments such as galvanizing, phosphating, or Dacromet coating can further enhance the corrosion resistance and service life of fasteners.

In industrial production, fastener standardization is crucial. International standards (such as ISO), national standards (such as GB and ANSI), and industry standards ensure the interchangeability and universality of fasteners, significantly reducing design and maintenance costs. With the development of intelligent manufacturing, new fastener technologies, such as high-strength, self-locking, and lightweight, are emerging, further driving progress in the high-end equipment manufacturing industry.

As the "link" of mechanical connections, fasteners, though small, are crucial, and their reliability is directly related to the safe operation of equipment. In the future, with breakthroughs in materials science and engineering, fasteners will continue to develop towards high performance and intelligentization, providing more solid technical support for various industries.
